To the Young People of Oman… Before You Compare Yourselves to Others

In Oman, you may see people start a business and quickly gain clients. Then they are invited to events, celebrated, and given titles such as successful entrepreneur or outstanding businessperson. Over time, they may also become convinced that all this success came only from their personal abilities.

But in some cases, a large part of this success is built on the family name, a network of connections, trust passed down through generations, and ties to influential families. These are things that people cannot see from the outside.

At the same time, a young Omani may compare himself to them and think that he is less intelligent or less capable. But the truth may be that he started from a completely different point and did not have the same network or the same opportunities.

So, before you think less of yourself, ask yourself: Am I comparing myself to someone who truly started under the same conditions?

This does not mean that their success is not real. It only means that you may not know about the support and connections behind it.
